Guatemala holds a special place in my heart for many reasons, but first and foremost, because Jake and I met on a Spring Break work trip there during college in 2004. It's the place of many of our first conversations, the first place we served together, and had our hearts broken together.
The downside to this trip? The team will be going without me. Baby D will be almost here (or perhaps already here!), so no new Guatemala stamp on my passport for me. It's bittersweet, but honestly, next time I go there I want to be with Jake. I already hate traveling to cool places without him for werk, so this trip would be really hard for obvious reasons.
Bon voyage co-werkers, I'll be starting a new adventure at home that began in Guatemala 8 years ago!

I can't pick out you of Jake? Are you in this photo?
ReplyDeleteSorry you can't make the trip, but as you said, it wouldn't be fun without Jake.
Donna, I'm in the upper right corner in the orange shirt, and Jake is in the front with the white shirt and red stripe wearing a visor.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was pretty sure you would be in the photo. I assume you were constructing the block building. What a great experience for both of you!
